PCMHA U18 Division – Preparing for the Future, On and Off the Ice
The U18 division represents the final stage of minor hockey, offering players aged 15–17 a meaningful and empowering experience as they refine their skills, deepen their understanding of the game, and prepare for life beyond minor hockey. According to Hockey Canada’s Long-Term Player Development model, this stage is part of the "Train to Compete" phase—focused on maximizing performance while supporting players' long-term goals, whether in hockey or other areas of life.
At PCMHA, our U18 program is built to support both competitive and recreational players, offering a structured environment where athletes can continue to thrive, challenge themselves, and enjoy the game in a way that fits their personal ambitions.
Key features of the U18 program include:
- High-level skill development with a focus on advanced tactics, speed, decision-making, and positional play
- Respectful body contact and safe checking techniques, aligned with Hockey Canada’s standards
- Leadership opportunities for players to take on more responsibility within their teams and as mentors for younger athletes
- Mental performance and physical conditioning support, where applicable, to help players excel at the highest levels
- Flexible pathways for both competitive (Rep) and recreational (C) players to remain engaged in the sport
- Exposure to new opportunities—such as high school, junior, or post-secondary hockey options
The U18 experience also places strong emphasis on teamwork, accountability, and respect—both essential values on the ice and in everyday life. Whether players are looking to extend their hockey careers or simply enjoy their final years in minor hockey, PCMHA is committed to offering a rewarding, supportive, and fun environment.
PCMHA offers A1 & C divisions for U18.
